Deborah sat with the elderly man, warmed his hands, and helped him with his tablets one by one.
Deborah has impressed me which isn't easy to do! The care I received was exceptional, however, I'd like to nominate her for the care she gave to another patient on the ward. Deborah comes across as a straight-talking, hardworking professional who seems to be everywhere! A very vulnerable elderly man was moved into our ward, and he seemed confused and in pain. He was given his tablets in the little paper cup, he was struggling with cold hands. What really touched me was how compassionate Deborah was even though she was very busy. She sat with the elderly man, warmed his hands, and helped him with his tablets one by one. This is probably a daily occurrence for Deborah and the other nursing staff. But the thing which impressed me was the switch from busy nurse to a compassionate person with all the time in the world to reassure this confused elderly man. It touched me. In a world where complaints are so commonplace and often given much time and resources, we miss the chance to celebrate the good. During those minutes I was privileged to witness the professionalism we often take for granted.
