Denise Bachorski has been my nurse since January 2022 at the University VA in Pittsburgh and in Monroeville for my maintenance immunotherapy treatment. She is unlike any other. She treats every situation with kindness, care, and a sense of importance. She always puts the needs of others above her own. We’ve laughed and cried together. She has always been there and had my back no matter what health issues I’m going through. My concerns regarding my lack of immunity during my high-risk IGG multiple myeloma treatments, putting me in a place I felt safe during the pandemic, have meant so much to me. Before and after my Stem Cell transplant, I had a great team but Denise is truly exceptional. I have been so blessed. I can call her work phone anytime; she always returns my call. She is my number one advocate. I can’t imagine my journey through cancer without her. She has been a constant in the ever-changing VA healthcare system, and it has meant the world to me.
