Denise is always the person to go to for help and guidance when its needed. Not only does she help the nurses, but also helps with cleanups and bathroom trips etc. when the floor gets busy. She is definitely one the greatest nurses I've worked with.
I have had the privilege of working with Denise for more than 13 years. She is the kind of nurse I hope to be. Denise is caring compassionate and kind hearted…. And not to just the patients; to her co-workers too, she is always willing to lend a helping hand. Denise goes above & beyond every shift she works.
Denise is the most amazing nurse I know. She is intelligent, resourceful, and supportive. She has a special way with patients and staff members as well. She has never left any of my questions unanswered or not help me when I needed it. I specifically remember a time when I had a patient intubated on the floor for a prolonged amount of time and Denise was in charge, I was a new nurse and she never left my side the entire time. Her calm nature and outstanding skills are something that I will never forget. She deals with the most difficult situations with ease and has incredible patience. She treats every staff member equally and even calls the floor when she is off to make sure she did not miss anyone's birthday, when we found out she has never received a DAISY Award, we were all shocked. She is the most deserving. She is our 6 Central mom and I can honestly say the floor would not be the same without her.
When I think of who exemplifies all aspects of who a nurse should be, I cannot think of anyone more fitting than Denise. Denise constantly reminds me that no matter how stressful our job can be that there is nothing more gratifying or selfless than giving yourself in service of others. Denise is more knowledgeable, competent, compassionate and giving than anyone I have ever met. She is an icon of 6-Central and a person who, if anyone has ever had the pleasure of working with her hopes to be half the nurse she is everyday once in their career. We love her deeply and are so thankful for her presence in our lives and there is no one more deserving of this award.
Denise is truly an exceptional nurse that is most deserving of this award. I have never worked with someone so caring, passionate and dedicated to her patients and job. I was only lucky enough to work with her for a few months but what is saw in who she is and the way she treated patients, families and her staff is unforgettable. She Is someone who goes above and beyond and is constantly on the look out to not only better the work environment but to lend a helping hand when she sees someone in trouble. She - is who you want caring for you if you ever end up at Lahey. Denise is an outstanding, extraordinary, dedicated, kind, passionate and caring nurse on 6 Central. She puts patients' first as well as their families. She also is always there and ready to help other nurses to ensure all patients are treated well and made as comfortable as possible during their stay here. Eva M. Denise is a wonderful nurse; she goes above and beyond to help the patients and their families. She is quick to render assistance when you need help. As a float UC on 6C, I'm always happy to work with her, she makes my job easier.
There is no one more deserving of a DAISY Award than Denise! In a field where many quickly move on from the rigors of bedside nursing, after 40 years Denise continues to excel in bedside care, bringing energy, kindness & compassion to the profession. She is a team player jumping in to help with others patients, a competent leader, excellent role model, and caring coworker (remembering staff birthday & other special occasions). She is calm & kind, building rapport with patients and deescalating difficult situations. She is often the 1st responder during a crisis & she sees things through. Denise has always been the "mom" of the unit. Not only do you feel comfortable enough to confide in her personally but she is "the RN" to go with absolutely any questions whether clinically or morally or plain advice. She has amazing patience, empathy, and heart! I love working with so much.
