My mother was admitted to the telemetry unit for a respiratory infection. Her words to me were, "I didn't think I was going to die like this!" Upon getting to her hospital room, Denise welcomed and reassured her. We were pleasantly surprised to see that Denise met mom's needs before she even asked for help. My mom said she was "so caring." Denise met every need for my mom including a hair shampoo, multiple bathroom trips and keeping family and friends up to date on my mom's progress. Denise's cheerful and positive attitude go beyond all expectations. Denise demonstrates the professional nurse in every way! We are grateful for her care.

If you or a loved one was ever hospitalized, Denise is the kind of nurse you hope you have. Her compassion is genuine and comes from the heart. Her sense of humor is enough to brighten any day and alleviate the anxiety and fear often associated with a hospital stay. She goes the extra mile in providing care to her patients in ways that might seem small to us but are very important to the patient and family. Her patients are educated about procedures and tests and she works with them to formulate the plan of care for the day. Whether Denise is working as a nurse or as the resource nurse on 3B, she is always available to offer a helping hand to her coworkers, which is very much appreciated. You will never hear "that's not my job" from Denise and she is quick to volunteer to fill a need on the unit or complete a task. She was personally invested in overseeing the recent unit renovations and ensuring they were completed to her impeccable standards! We are indeed fortunate to have Denise as a nurse on the Pulmonary/Vent unit and as a Holy Cross nurse.
