Throughout my husband's stay, Destiny was always friendly and professional.
My husband was admitted for a few days. Destiny was my husband's nurse for the majority of his stay, and she had an incredibly positive and upbeat attitude and perfectly matched my husband’s goofy sense of humor. My husband was in a very dark place when he was admitted, and her sunshine is exactly what he needed.
We had an exemplary team of doctors, with one exception. Destiny could tell we weren't meshing well with the GP, so she took it upon herself to speak with the charge nurse to find out what other options we had before we had a chance to speak with her about it. Destiny had exceptional intuition and made sure that we knew what our options were and took the time to make sure we had someone who would actually listen to what we were saying and would explain what was happening. She made sure we had exemplary care in line before she left for her weekend off.
Throughout my husband's stay, Destiny was always friendly and professional; she treated us both like family and made sure we always knew what was going on, if there were delays with tests, she let us know about the delays as well as why (if there was a reason to be found). She always made sure we knew if there were any changes to his antibiotics/medications, as well as what they were and why. We were always included in my husband's care, and it made it much easier to know what needed to be done upon discharge since we had been informed of everything every step of the way.
Destiny knows healing is just as much about the mental and emotional aspects as well as the physical. I hope she is at least notified that she is an exemplary nurse, and we will never be able to thank her enough for her kindness and compassion. She is exactly the kind of nurse that I hope many could learn from.
