Devon displayed a tremendous amount of patience with her, explained everything being done to the best of his ability to make her understand and be comfortable with her stay.
My wife had her first stroke two years ago. We started to notice symptoms affecting her right side that were very similar to when she had her stroke that affected her left side. We were transferred from Brownstown Hospital straight to the I6 unit at Detroit, where we met Devon, who took care of my wife throughout the night for the duration of my wife's stay. My wife is not a typical patient and has many needs that are not typical of most. Without use of her left arm, limited ability to walk, and fear of needles, along with several other factors that make it take much more effort to keep her comfortable. But Devon displayed a tremendous amount of patience with her, explained everything being done to the best of his ability to make her understand and be comfortable with her stay. He went out of his way to spend time in her room just having some conversation to keep her relaxed and committed to completing all the testing the doctors wanted to get done to try and help diagnose her situation. In my experiences taking my wife to many hospitals and doctors throughout her original stroke and her recovery process, it is rare to find any healthcare provider at any level to be as compassionate and understanding of her condition. He quickly gained her trust, and she felt that Devon truly cared about her while under his supervision. I could go on and on with how much I personally appreciated his efforts. He was instrumental in keeping her at the hospital where she needed to be. Without his care, I strongly believe she would have checked herself out and not completed the testing she needed.
