the reason why things didn't go from calm to chaos was because of Dia and the control she maintained
Right about shift change we had a patient that began experiencing a decline in her health. The patient was under the care of a newly off orientation new grad nurse and several of us rushed into the room to assist her with the patient. Dia Hartsell was one of them. She quickly took charge of things and without hesitation knew just what to do. There were multiple people in the room doing multiple things at the direction of Dia and the reason why things didn't go from calm to chaos was because of Dia and the control she maintained over the situation. I was able to observe the diligence and excellence in the charge and direction Dia displayed during this situation. This is not something out of the ordinary for Dia's leadership ability. Dia is a vital asset to the Telemetry Unit and is able to assist in any situation. She does this with professionalism and a calm that is able to bring peace to any situation especially the ones that could become stressful or out of control. I write this to say Dia is deserving of a hero award not just for this situation but for her work on the Telemetry Unit at all times.
