When it comes to living our Mission, vision, and values, what stands out to me about Diana is her love for our patients.
I am the Nurse Manager for Diana Gruner who works in our Wound Care department here at Providence Mount Carmel Hospital in Colville Washington. One of our Primary Care Doctors sent us the following quote regarding Diana Gruner and asked that we recognize her:
“There are some people you come in contact with, who just “get it.” She (Diana) reached out to me regarding a patient because she cared so much about them and their quality of life and had picked up on some subtle cues that the patient was needing some intervention for their grief and mental health. She was relentless in contacting our office and didn’t just leave it as a “phone note,” but really tried reaching us via telephone for several days. These are the people who embody the mission of Jesus and take care of others first, thinking about the “job,” and themselves second. Really impressed by her, and thankful she is caring for our population."
Diana consistently provides excellent wound care for our patients. Not only that; she speaks up for other essential aspects of their care. This is a strong example of a high standard of safety and quality for our patients and shows a true commitment to doing the right thing for our patients for the right reasons. When it comes to living our Mission, vision, and values, what stands out to me about Diana is her love for our patients. This love is shown through her high-quality wound care, her willingness to listen and understand what the patient needs beyond wound care, and her follow through to make sure all members of the patient's care team are aware of the patient's needs. I agree with this doctor, I'm thankful for Diana and her contribution to our community. She is truly a blessing!
Note: This is Diana's 2nd DAISY Award!
