During the final days of his life, my father was a patient on 6 South and Diana was his nurse. I have never been more impressed with a nurse as I (and my family) was with Diana. Her level of care was extraordinary. She was on top of anything my dad or our family needed. She always had information for us and always made sure he was comfortable, he had CHF and his breathing was very poor.
Because Dad's health had deteriorated so rapidly, we knew he was not going to leave the hospital. At that point, we, dad included, made the difficult decision to remove his breathing machine and let nature take its course. The hospice Nurse Practitioner wrote orders for comfort meds to help. As Diana was administering his medication, she quietly told him, "It was a pleasure being your nurse", as she began to tear up when my dad passed.
Diana was amazing, she cried along with us and did everything she could to comfort us. The hospital chaplain came and spoke very kindly. She asked us if we would like to say a few prayers together. Diana was in the room and as we joined hands, Diana joined in with us. She was amazing!! She is a true DAISY Nurse.
