Dillon always puts the patient's needs at the center of all HonorHealth he does.  He truly lives out HonorHealth ICARE values day in and day out.
I have been meaning to nominate Dillon for this award for a long time.  Many of my colleagues have agreed he is deserving. When I spoke to them about the excellent nursing care that Dillon provides, they shared that he is kind, patient, empathetic, and intentional in his care.

Dillon always puts the patient's needs at the center of all HonorHealth he does.  He truly lives out HonorHealth ICARE values day in and day out, so there is not just one specific situation that alone makes him an excellent candidate for this award.  I have personally heard him on several occasions go and speak to every single one of his patients before he has to step into a family conference on rehab to meet any needs they have and let them know he will be occupied for that period of time.  The second the meeting is done, he goes back in the room to touch base with all of his patients again after the fact.

Dillion is always on time with medications and dressing changes and always coordinates this around therapy time. He will seek therapists to give updates on his patients and inform us that they are ready for therapy.  When a patient who was in rehab unfortunately lost her husband while she was here, therapists were understanding of her grief but were still trying to meet her rehab minutes as able.  Dillion sought out time to sit down with this patient and arrange a time with her that she would be open to working with therapy.  He relayed this to the therapist with a specific weekend day and time frame and wrote it on the board on the rehab unit, so that the patient was not being bothered or asked /attempted several times to see if she would be open to working with therapy.

Dillon is also a semi-fluent Spanish speaker, and he puts this into practice to the best of his ability to better communicate with his patient and build rapport with his Spanish-speaking patients.  I've been sitting at the nursing station next to him while he is admitting a Spanish-speaking patient to the rehab unit.   I heard him express his desire to do and be his best for this patient and wanting to ensure he was communicating adequately with her.  I would like to stress that I know if Dillon ever needed a Spanish interpreter, he would utilize them appropriately.  Dillion is an exceptional team member, and I believe he should be recognized for his outstanding work.
