We had the pleasure of having Donna care for our two premature daughters. With our most recent NICU stay, we were relieved to see her familiar face at a time when we were scared. Donna was our daughter’s nurse frequently during those weeks. She always made us feel like she valued our input and listened to our concerns. She made sure we always knew all there was to know about our daughter’s condition and provided thoughts and suggestions based on her many years of experiences. Donna knows I am particular about having things organized and neat, so she always had wires, tubes and stickers lined up and fresh. She was tuned into our daughter knowing what each little wiggle or noise meant and was quick to attend to her. When we had to leave, we felt peace of mind knowing Donna was there. She talked with us not because she had to, but because she wanted to. She was always there with open arms. Donna goes above and beyond to make sure her patients are cared for and her families are cared for. We will miss Donna’s caring smile and sweet spirit. She absolutely deserves to be recognized as an exemplary nurse.
