"I was completely surprised when they presented me with the award," said Jackson. "Nursing is my passion and it's very rewarding to be recognized for working hard."


Jackson was nominated by a patient's family member. The nomination said, "Doris is compassionate, caring and treated my mom with respect and dignity. She eased her fears and has a very big, caring disposition. She was an excellent nurse - one of many great Memorial Hermann Nurses."
