Dorothy was nominated by one of her colleagues who wanted to share her gratitude to Dorothy when she observed her caring for a patient and their loved one through a very difficult time in their lives. This patient was about to experience a transfer from one facility to the next due to complications and Dorothy eased their anxiety by holding their hands, going through the step-by-step process in terms they both understood, and staying past her shift to ensure the transfer was flawless. They trusted Dorothy and Dorothy wanted to make sure they got in the transport ambulance safely. She is an extraordinary nurse.
