Role model extraordinary behavior and ethical behavior are modeled. Dwan’s actions speak louder than words. She treats all members of staff with respect and dignity. Her kindness and compassion with her patients stand out above others. She takes the time to talk and listen to her patient’s needs, and addresses their concerns with the utmost compassion. I had the opportunity to witness Dwan as she helped a patient who was having a panic attack. Dwan stood at his bedside and gave him a back rub to calm him. She listened intently to his concerns. Dwan shows her genuine love for her patients, demonstrating the most compassionate behaviors I have seen. This is only one example. Dwan treats all her patients in the very same manner. 

Dwan is the first to jump in and help staff with her strong knowledge base and enthusiasm to achieve better outcomes for themselves and their patients. As a nurse for many years, she has used her experience to influence others and guide others along her path. Dwan exemplifies what nursing is all about. 

Dwan has a gift; she can make a difficult situation seem effortless with her knowledge and expertise. She is a true nurse leader. Dwan is a true role model, creating an environment with attributes of trust, compassion, and mutual respect. I am proud to know her and to work alongside such a wonderful nurse.
