Dylan showed compassionate care that was more like a family member than a nurse.
Our mother was brought in by ambulance straight to ICU for a pulmonary embolism. Her situation was very touch and go, just trying to survive overnight until emergency surgery for Thrombectomy the next morning. Dylan was the most compassionate nurse any of us have ever witnessed and we are a large family, having had much experience in hospital stays and emergencies. He stayed in the room with our mom nearly all night, providing one-on-one care.

When something wasn't needed that was necessary for medical care, he provided comfort measures more than necessary. Dylan showed compassionate care that was more like a family member than a nurse. Our family was so concerned because the situation was so moment by moment of survival until the procedure, and Dylan made us so comfortable in taking care of our mom.

When his shift was over, we all got tears, and he nearly got tears saying goodbye because he trusted that the next shift nurse would care for our mom like he did. He was truly more compassionate than any we've ever seen, and his care given was absolutely top-notch. We have never felt care was worth a nomination, because, generally nurses do their jobs, but they don't always show such compassion and go beyond the call of duty. We feel his compassion and constant care for our mom is what got her through the survival time until surgery could take place.
