In 2019 alone, Ebonie connected with over 150 Project Ujima participants, helping both to navigate the health system and to heal physically, mentally, and emotionally from their injuries.
Ebonie has been a strong advocate not only for youth victims of violence but for adult victims and the family members of many who have come through the program. She has represented the program with an empathetic and informative approach, dedicated to sharing her passion for education and understanding. She is focused on supporting families upon discharge from the hospital after long-term stays, ensuring that they are confident and comfortable helping their loved one along on their healing journey, however, the importance and dedication of
Ebonie's work does not stop there. She works tirelessly in the evening hours, on a part-time schedule, to connect individually with each and every Ujima nurse referral herself both via telephone and meeting families in their homes throughout the Milwaukee Community. Ebonie has helped to facilitate the program's mentoring life/skills groups for adolescent program participants, Ujima summer camp activities, and is a clinical sounding board for many challenges faced by program staff when assisting Ujima families through the navigation of discharge summaries, care plans, safety plans, 504s, and follow-up visits. In 2019 alone, Ebonie connected with over 150 Project Ujima participants, helping both to navigate the health system and to heal physically, mentally, and emotionally from their injuries.
She does nothing short of embodying Children's mission and vision toward the healthiest kids in the nation. I am both honored and privileged to have Ebonie as a part of the Ujima team and look forward to witnessing her continued drive, motivation, and dedication to Milwaukee families.
