The Behavioral Health Team was recognized when a patient arrived to the ED after a recent discharge from our Behavioral Health unit two days prior. Though cleared to go home through EPS, Renese, the patient's nurse, felt this patient still posed a risk to himself and realized he didn't have anywhere to go after release. She alerted Dr. Terry that she did not feel comfortable with his discharge and huddled with Dr. Terry, Jackie and Rachelle for four hours until they found a place for the patient to stay. The team worked to ensure the safety of this patient and they did not stop until they were able to accomplish their goal.
