Even through the busy shift as Shift Lead, Edlyn Lugtu managed to help create a beautiful moment for one of our Team Members and their family as they experienced a family crisis with both parents being hospitalized at the same time, with one parent made comfort care. Edlyn advocated to move the couple closer together and facilitated moving them into the same room to share what may be their last time together before our team member's father passed. I visited the family and saw the mother in her hospital bed smiling, at complete peace, lying next to her dying husband in his hospital bed as her family sang to them both. It was an absolutely beautiful moment & a gift I am beyond grateful we were able to give our colleague and their family. Thank you, Edlyn, for bringing love, remembering our members' humanity, and helping to create that moment for that family. This is what nursing is all about. That simple gesture made me proud to be a Kaiser team member & it's one of those moments you remember throughout your career.
