That night was probably one of the scariest times of our lives and I am just so grateful of Elisha and her quick thinking.
I would like to recognise Elisha for her quick thinking and responsiveness when I was in hospital with my little boy.
We were on ward 15 in a side room awaiting results of lumbar puncture and blood tests, which turned out to be meningitis and sepsis.
I was initially alone with my little boy who was very poorly and continuously crying. Elisha had walked past our room a couple of times and heard my baby’s cry which was more like a painful scream.
Elisha came in and introduced herself, and asked if she could move me to the HDU area so she could pop on the baby monitors.
Not long after, it became apparent that my little one was extremely poorly, and Elisha notified the consultants, who quickly came to support with his care.
That night was probably one of the scariest times of our lives and I am just so grateful of Elisha and her quick thinking.
What an amazing nurse she is!
