Liz calmed the whole room with her calm, firm words and helped us get our patient safely to the emergency department after our initial rounds of care.
Liz is an incredible nurse who goes above and beyond for patient after patient, and also is a great resource for our teaching hospital for the residents. For every cardiac CT patient, she is calm and helpful, having received multiple thank-yous for her demeanor. She carefully assesses each patient and keeps the CT techs, residents, and attendings in the loop to best provide for our patients.
Furthermore, she is available for all contrast reactions, treating her patients with kindness and also helping brand new residents learn and become confident in their assessments of patients with reactions. She keeps meticulous documentation and helps record allergies for future visits.
Liz is a gem for the radiology department excelling in hands-on teaching while maintaining professional decorum and excellent patient care. She reminds residents to take a breath in their assessments and take the time needed before moving forward with the plan. Her calm demeanor has helped me in a serious patient reaction where the patient had to receive epinephrine and then wanted to jump off the table. She calmed the whole room with her calm, firm words and helped us get our patient safely to the emergency department after our initial rounds of care. She understands the team and helped with the nurse-to-nurse sign-out of that patient in the emergency department while I signed out to the physician. Liz is a great example of clinical excellence and mentorship for our teaching hospital.
