A true professional with the ability to administer medical attention and still provide a stern and gentle caring spirit to this patient.
My father had surgery at Piedmont Columbus Regional Northside and was attended to by Elizabeth Bridges. We are nominating this nurse for her professional interaction with the patient and family, detailed care of my father, and compassionate patience with someone who, in better terms, does not take direction well.
She never skipped a beat on providing these key essential steps in his recovery while at Northside. From my initial interaction, she was clear on what her role would be in providing his extended care while he was in recovery. His recovery would painstakingly take all day due to his slow recovery and inability to follow directions from staff. In her gentle way, she stuck to her guns and convinced him to listen and rest, and after a catheter had to be administered, she in detail instructed him and me on the application, cleaning, and side effects of the whole treatment.
She went beyond her calling in dealing with a frustrated patient, working past her given shift. That is correct; she stayed until we got him loaded up and checked out. A true professional with the ability to administer medical attention and still provide a stern and gentle caring spirit to this patient.
