Liz made my experience at Crouse an extraordinary one. I came to Crouse in the morning for a scheduled caesarian. I was very excited and had very high expectations for the birth of my son. This was my second baby born at Crouse. My first son was born premature and had to be rushed to the NICU. It was a very stressful time. I had told Liz how I really wanted to enjoy every aspect of this birth. I wanted to hold him as soon as possible and nurse him. She assured me she would do everything in her power to meet my requests.
Liz was so patient with me and my mother who was with me the whole time. When Dr. B lifted my son so we could see him I had so many tears of joy. My mother was even able to cut his umbilical cord. The moment she put him in my arms was the most amazing moment ever. She helped my mom with my phone take pictures because she was struggling with this task. She helped her capture the first moments I had with my son.
Liz then assisted me with nursing him. It was the most beautiful feeling to be able to do that minutes after his birth. Looking back on those pictures I'm so grateful she took the time to help make them possible. Spending that time with my son was so precious. The bonding time I will always cherish. Liz's patience and compassion for my experience will always be in my heart. I tell everyone that his birth was the most amazing experience of my life. She helped me enjoy it and helped me to get as many amazing moments out of it as possible. I owe her so much gratitude for being such an extraordinary nurse to all of us that day.
