The act was motherly, like soothing a sick child.
I was admitted with Covid. From the first time Elizabeth was my nurse, I felt like I was not just a number. She patiently listened to my specific care requirements. By the time Elizabeth was my nurse, I was starting to feel really down because I had been hospitalized for nearly two weeks already. She went out of her way to hear me, respect me and help me feel a bit more human again. She helped me get out of bed to go to the bathroom. Elizabeth got nice cool wipes and wiped my whole back down, not just to clean me but to soothe me as I have a problem with overheating. The act was motherly, like soothing a sick child. She listened as I cried from being frustrated from being sick. She went the extra step for me. She brushed my hair which hadn't been touched in a week. She was never in a rush and truly helped to get me feeling like a person again as opposed to just a job. Elizabeth listened to me and always had ice ready and with her when she came in. She also stayed right on top of my medical care. My meds were exactly what I needed. I was in less pain if I kept my cough under control. She is a shining star.
