I was hired as a new grad here at Saddleback almost 3 years ago. In that time I learned many things about what it is to be an ED RN here. On one of my first shifts, Liz was my charge. I couldn't believe she knew as much as I did about all 4 of my patients (not to mention everyone else's as well) and how with what seemed like total chaos to a new grad RN, she was able to control and direct that chaos with the help of our team.
Liz became a mentor to me very quickly, teaching me how the flow of the ED works what to look out for in patients and patient situations and how to keep our patients and crew safe. She also was able to give me insight on different clinical techniques that seemed so difficult before working here that are so very common to me now. Liz is an amazing RN to learn from and I've seen several others who have gone under her wing to become great RNs and became great team members here at Saddleback ED. Liz has shown me what it is to be a great leader here and has encouraged me to become a leader myself. I would not be the same RN if not for Liz.
