Elizabeth’s ability to show the care and compassion she does for these newborns when they pass is why I believe she deserves to be recognized with this award.
Elizabeth came down to L&D to read two books to a newborn who had passed away the previous day. She took the time out of her busy shift to come down to make sure someone read a book to this baby. She says she likes to read babies their first book and last book because she believes every baby should be read a story. Having a fetal demise is one of the most difficult things we deal with in the New Life Center. Elizabeth’s ability to show the care and compassion she does for these newborns when they pass is why I believe she deserves to be recognized with this award.

Elizabeth went out of her way to show love to one of the babies who passed away. She read the baby her first and last stories that she would ever have. The compassion and kindness Elizabeth has shown are a light on our units and it is inspiring to work alongside her. Getting to witness her reading to the baby was a blessing and inspiration for all of us.
