My father was a patient at Rush and Liz cared for him during his stay. He was diagnosed with brain cancer and was very sick for most of 2018. We knew his time was limited and we gathered into his room to spend his final hours together. With so little time left, Liz frequently checked on us (the family) as well as my father to be sure that we were all as comfortable as possible. We had some special requests that she honored, and she did so in a way that made us feel so cared for. For example, we asked for a priest to come to my father's room and he was challenging to track down. We wanted an opportunity to lay down with him in his final moments and Liz helped make that happen. She cried with us, hugged us, and really helped make this tragic day somehow more peaceful. I left the hospital with her on my mind and now 48 hours later I still feel her empathy and sorrow. The world needs more caring people like her.
