If Liz couldn’t give us an immediate answer regarding an issue, she would research it and seek the correct avenue for us.
My husband, M, and I would like to nominate Liz for the DAISY Award, as she is a top-notch professional and an asset to her team. Liz was our Nurse Navigator as my husband went through the Car T Cell Transplant Program for Multiple Myeloma at Dana Farber. From day one, she took our calls at all hours, answering questions from medications addressing his vitals to our temporary housing issue while living 42 days in Boston, always providing an empathetic ear and respect, applying critical thinking and compassion during times of crisis while treating OP, and was always a strong advocate for M.

If Liz couldn’t give us an immediate answer regarding an issue, she would research it and seek the correct avenue for us. She is hardworking, has a strong attention to detail, and has a great sense of humor, which is much needed while going through this very challenging yet rewarding program. Liz knew that my husband’s 2022 stem cell transplant had failed, and his body was showing the progression of his disease. The action that set her above the rest was Liz calling me to advise his current lab work showed his cancer counts were undetectable…the transplant was working! To have a nurse like Liz in your corner is truly a gift from God. We are so extremely grateful to all those who gave us hope in a time of darkness and extended kindness to us in a crucial time in our lives, especially Liz.
