Having to leave your newborn baby at the hospital in the NICU is a very unsettling feeling. We were unsure what to expect and felt displaced. We were fortunate enough to have Emily assigned to our son twice. She has such a bright spirit and personality. She answered all our questions and visited with us about various things. After a while we forgot where we even were, we felt comfortable like we were talking to someone we had known a long time. My husband referred and still refers to Emily as our son's guardian angel. We didn't feel like we were just patients or that our son was, we felt a connection with Emily on a more personal level, and for that, I am very grateful because it helped put my mind at ease about leaving our baby boy in the NICU.
