Emily was a wonderful, kind, caring human being—a nurse with a heart of gold. She cares about her patients.
Emily was my infusion room nurse for a newly approved drug that required 5+ hours in the chair. From the moment she entered the room, she was positive and energetic. She explained what was going to happen over the next five hours, made sure I understood, and got to work because it was a long infusion… She continually checked on me with the same positive energy, doing what she needed to do in a professional manner. What made Emily stand out was at the end of the first treatment, we discussed my second treatment. She asked when it was scheduled and [I] told her [it was scheduled] for 1:50p the following weeks. She said you know that will mean you will be here late, 7 or 8 pm. She asked if she could look into moving the appointment to earlier in the day if I would be okay with that. I agreed…Emily called me to see if anyone had reached out to me about the appointment change, they had not. She then told me [the] new appointment time much earlier in the day... Emily had no reason to do this other than her compassion for patients getting treatment in the infusion center. In summary, Emily is Positive, Compassionate, and Energetic [and] brings the patient a great experience.

I started my IV copper infusion today. This is my 3rd time. The last time I was here was in November 2022. My nurse, Emily Berry, who took care of me back in November, is taking care of me again. Emily is the only nurse who handles me with care. I'm afraid of needles. Emily promised me it wouldn't hurt. Emily talked me through the needle process. Small pinch. I didn't feel a thing. Emily was a wonderful, kind, caring human being—a nurse with a heart of gold. She cares about her patients. Emily welcomed me with open arms. Emily [was my nurse] the last time I was here in November of 2022… provided me with juice and snacks during my 2 hour stay… checked up on me from time to time and made sure I was ok. Emily is a true warrior. As patients, we need nurses like Emily Berry to keep us alive. Nurses are hardworking, dedicated, and caring and are the backbone of the nursing industry. Without the nurses, I wouldn't be here writing this nomination. Emily Berry is not only a nurse; she is a patient heart to everyone she is in contact with. Emily Berry takes her job very seriously. I wish there were more nurses like Emily Berry in the healthcare field. Back in November of 2022, I even designed a "sign" for Emily Berry to say from the bottom of my [heart?] patient. Thank you for taking care of me during my copper appts. Emily, you’re the best, and you Rock!
