I am nominating Emily Dickerson for so many reasons. First of many reasons is the fact that Emily's bedside manner is beyond amazing. Emily always has her patient's best interest at heart and is there with so much empathy and understanding of what they are experiencing throughout their treatments. Emily has comforted me when I was in the most pain of my life with comforting words of encouragement.
The second reason is Emily always has such a wonderfully upbeat personality and a smile as big as the sun. Positivity rubs off not only on other staff but patients as well. There have been several occasions that I have been in a funk because I was hurting, and she would pop in the room smile and say, "What's going on!" And I, of course, couldn't help but smile back!
On countless occasions, I have seen Emily jump in and offer doctors, other nurses, and staff help when they were busy or just need an extra hand. To me, that means that she is a team player and cares about her co-workers. Emily truly surpasses any and every expectation that I would have for a nurse and she exhibits all the qualities that I believe should be a nurse. Emily deserves this on so many levels and there are so many qualities that she has I could sit here and type all day. She is truly the best Nurse I have ever had!
