On behalf of my sweet deceased wife and myself, we would like to recognize Nurse Emily Hellweg for her care. My wife was a patient several times for several weeks at Parker Adventist Hospital earlier this year. We experienced your ER department twice and were assigned to 4 different regular rooms and 2 different ICU rooms throughout our stays. I was by her side in those 8 rooms most of those days and nights, so I personally experienced the care of 40 different personnel shifts in your hospital. During the last 14 years, dealing with cancer, chemo, surgeries, blood clots and the multisystem atrophy, I have spent probably 90 nights in a chair or couch throughout the many nights. There was one nurse in particular who clearly and consistently provided exemplary competence. Her professionalism along with the genuine compassion was just what we needed. She communicated in an effective manner and her skills provided us a confidence that we both felt I could leave and go home to sleep for 5 hours and shower before returning. I assure you, taking care of a terminally ill loved one for so many years, those hours provided me clarity and passion which carried me through the ten days I cared for her at home before she died. I only hope you understand what a difference Nurse Hellweg's kindness made to our lives and will forever be grateful. God bless her and your entire nursing staff in your important work.
