Emily not only had an amazingly caring & loving personality, but she also always went the extra mile.
First nomination:
As a father of a nurse, I have always had a special place in my heart for nurses due to their caring nature and ability to treat each patient as if he or she was their own loved one. During my mom’s hospitalization, we sadly had some unfavorable interactions with the care team, but also had some that will stick with my mom and me forever, one of which was the care that we received from Emily.

Emily not only had an amazingly caring & loving personality, but she also always went the extra mile. She was always very prompt in answering the call bell and even if she couldn't attend to us right away, she would pop in and tell us she would be over to help us shortly. Her assessment skills are noteworthy because she picked up on things that no other provider had. For example, during one of her shifts, she noticed that my mom’s toes were rather cold & purple. I told her it’s been like that for a few days now but no one has noticed so she escalated care, thankfully it wasn’t anything serious but she prioritized care by placing hot packs on her feet and ensuring ways to keep her warm and comfortable.

Even on the days she wasn’t taking care of mama she would come by to check in and would always ask if we needed anything. Even on the day of discharge, she checked in to ensure we had everything to go home and I could tell how happy she was for us to be discharged. Emily is deserving of this DAISY Award because she provides extraordinary, compassionate nursing care whether she is your assigned nurse or not. It’s because of nurses like Emily that my mom is home and recovering from a traumatic accident.

Thank you, Emily, for everything you have done and will continue to do.

Second nomination:
Emily was most helpful and informative to my wife and me after my cardioversion procedure. I didn’t find out about this award until I had an angiogram done on January 25th. Ergo the delayed submittal.

Emily was very caring and responsive during my recovery. She also spent much time explaining things to my wife and me and answering all of our questions. And my discharge was very efficiently handled.

Too many folks these days just go through the motions; she did not.
