This visit made me feel understood and validated; the empathy and understanding of my concerns and anxiety helped bring me peace of mind.
I've been to the hospital several times for recurrent miscarriages, and I've been treated very poorly during the previous hospital visits. The doctors were very insensitive and short along with some of the other nurses, in the past I'd come in bleeding and in pain and most of the time all I got was "yeah you're losing it" or "yeah you lost it" and a note to excuse my absence from work for a day. This visit was different, I was met with kindness, empathy, understanding, and reassurance. This visit made me feel understood and validated, the empathy and understanding of my concerns and anxiety helped bring me peace of mind to my situation and ultimately understand my baby was going to be ok she sat with me until the doctor came in and again, I was met with more kindness something that was lacked in my previous visits. This time, I got an education on what to do if a similar situation arose and what to do if I needed help after clinic hours. They let me see my baby and recommended I get back on my anxiety medication and receive therapy to help with my pregnancy trauma. I wasn't feeling my best and I was getting ready to give up if I lost my pregnancy again, but this nurse was beyond amazing and understanding and helped calm my anxiety and fear she shared her story with me, and I knew I wasn't alone and I knew it was possible to have what I want. Thank you very much for showing me kindness when I needed it most, and thank you for letting me see my baby move and hear her heartbeat.
