On top of the fact that she has a sparkling personality, she also is very knowledgeable and is always willing and focused on questions that I have and finding a way to explain the answer to me in a way that is easy to understand
I would like to thank my nurse and share my story of why this nurse is so special. Unfortunately, do more than my fair share of hospital stays. I can honestly say that I have never had a night nurse like Emma before.
She is so upbeat and has such a positive spirit about her that it makes it hard to dwell on the “woe is me” that I stress myself out with from having to be in the hospital alone.
On top of the fact that she has a sparkling personality, she also is very knowledgeable and is always willing and focused on questions that I have and finding a way to explain the answer to me in a way that is easy to understand. I was lucky enough to have Emma as my night nurse 2 nights in a row. Both nights she helped me keep up on my medication in a way that was allowing me to get rest but also not allowing me to fall behind.
Although I have not got to see her in action outside of my room, you can tell that nurse Emma is efficient in her job which makes for an asset to both the hospital and her co-workers. I really appreciate how she has taken care of me the last couple of nights. She has made me feel comfortable asking questions about my care or even just chatting with her while she was drawing or administering medication. I really wish there were Emma’s at every hospital and for every patient because being out of our homes, out of our comfort zones as well and not feeling well can be both scary and frustrating but with nurses like Emma that ooze bubbliness makes it that much less worse.
Southview is a lucky hospital to have a nurse who shows positivity, compassion, and knowledge, and is just an overall good human being. Those are getting harder and harder to find. My stay didn’t start out the greatest here but having Emma as my nurse is probably what I will remember the most out of my Southview Hospital stay.
