We were waiting on some lab work for a rare blood disease my father has. It seems (I could be mistaken) that the doctor didn’t want to treat him for this unless the labs came back positive. I understand this. I have the same disorder. To me it was so clear he was in an attack and getting worse every day. It is a very unpleasant thing to go through an attack (very)! I asked Emmarie Gomez to check which labs were ordered. It had been days. She called the RMH lab there and they had to send it to Martha Jefferson. She followed up for me and called the Martha Jefferson lab. They said Lab Corp was supposed to pick up labs, but the courier did not show up to pick them up. I was extremely upset. 

Emmarie calmed me down. She said she would notify the doctor and have him come up or call me. The doctor did come up and I was able to talk with the doctor and he started my dad with the treatment. The next morning there was improvement in my father. I am so thankful for Emmarie for going that extra mile. It may have even saved my father’s life as if this goes untreated can cause death. Not that he was near that, but since he is elderly, you never know. He could have been discharged to a nursing home without treatment and I am sure that would have been the end of my dad.
