I am thrilled to stand before you today to express heartfelt gratitude for each member of the incredible LaGrange Ambulatory Surgery Center team. It is your dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to your patients that have led you to achieve a remarkable milestone this year, culminating in being honored with the DAISY Team Award.
As you all know, your journey this past year was not without its challenges. The severe storms that closed the center from October to December 2023 posed significant obstacles, disrupting services and leading to a decline in patient satisfaction scores. Many valued patients faced the inconvenience of rescheduling their elective procedures, often traveling further distances to receive care elsewhere.
However, your resilience shone through when you reopened. You stepped up, embracing the AIDET+H training, which emphasizes the critical elements of effective communication—Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank you, and Handoff. This training has not only equipped you with the tools to enhance patient interactions but has also fostered a culture of excellence within your team.
Today, I am proud to share that you have achieved an extraordinary patient satisfaction score of 100% as of May 2024, far surpassing your goal of 89.9%. This success is a direct reflection of your dedication to providing the highest quality care. You’ve demonstrated what can be accomplished when you work collaboratively towards a common goal, all while navigating the trials you've faced.
As you continue through the remaining months of this fiscal year, let this momentum be maintained, striving to sustain the excellence you have established. The LaGrange ASC is not only a part of the Emory Healthcare family but is also recognized as one of the few Magnet® designated centers in Georgia, exemplifying the gold standard in nursing and patient care.
