Dr. Hooper leads with compassion and a deep commitment to advancing our Caring Science and Heart Science programs, engaging closely with medical centers across the region. Her collaborative approach fosters deep connections within our healthcare teams, ensuring that the principles of Caring Science are not only understood but lived in daily practice.
As a facilitator of our Communities of Practice for Caring Science, HeartMath, Healing Circles, and DAISY Coordinators, Dr. Hooper has cultivated spaces where staff can engage in meaningful dialogue, self-reflection, and healing. Her leadership in these areas has provided invaluable support, promoting resilience and well-being among our nurses and care teams.
One of Dr. Hooper’s most pioneering achievements is her role as Program Director of the first-ever Caritas Coach Education Program (CCEP) within a healthcare organization. In partnership with the Watson Caring Science Institute, she has been instrumental in the recruitment, teaching, faculty training, and development of this groundbreaking program. Under her guidance, the CCEP has become a beacon of excellence in healthcare, transforming the way we lead, care, and support our patients and one another.
Beyond her leadership within our organization, Dr. Hooper is an active force in the community. She leads wellness programs and presents her work with the Bay Area Black Nurses Association, demonstrating her commitment to advancing health equity and community wellness. Her dedication to empowering marginalized voices reflects her deep-rooted compassion and belief in the transformative power of caring.
Additionally, Dr. Hooper spearheads research and evidence-based practice activities for KPCares and Healing Circles multi-site studies. Her research leadership bridges the gap between evidence and practice, ensuring that our efforts in caring and healing are supported by the latest scientific findings, further enriching the care we provide.
