This compliment is long overdue. I did not get the chance to really thank her because I saw her for a short time. Erica will always be in my heart. A few days after having my son, I had a very shocking and scary experience while here in the hospital. After approaching her something happened and she handled it very well, even if she had experienced this before I still appreciate her. The story is very personal and shouldn’t be placed on public display. She helped in such a way and stayed calm. She helped me out of my clothes, she even took them and attended to them as she did not need to. She wasn’t even the nurse in our room that night. I’m sure almost everyone in the PICU knows what happened. I don’t know what she looks like and I didn’t even know her name. What she did was completely from her heart. I am sure no amount of training told her to help the way she did. Erica, I wish I could hug you and thank you in person. I spent two months trying to figure out what I could get you to show you how much you mean to me. I couldn’t think. I knew I would be back to look for you but someone told me this would make you happy. You are the best nurse, thank you, Erica!
