I cannot say enough good things about Erica. There is truly no way to articulate just how amazing she is. Erica comes to work every day with a positive attitude that is contagious to others, helping to keep spirits uplifted. She always starts off by taking everyone's coffee order, paying close attention to detail, and ensuring the correct order and correct dose of caffeine is being administered to all members of staff Q Day and oftentimes BID. She keeps the hanger at bay by ordering lunch for everyone daily. We all know that these acts alone help to boost our patient safety and satisfaction scores. While wanting to remain discrete (but we won't let her), Erica goes above and beyond in showing acts of kindness towards patients. She ensured that a patient's birthday was not forgotten and helped to get a cake for all to celebrate. She aided in the purchase and delivery of a new bicycle for a patient whose bike had been stolen. These are a few of the acts of kindness that we know about. ​

Erica always shows respect and kindness to every patient that she encounters, even when that same respect and kindness is not always returned. Additionally, she goes the extra mile in caring for her coworkers. Whether it be heading a furniture drive for a coworker in need of assistance or answering the call of a coworker in distress and rushing to their aid. Erica truly cares and shows it daily. Erica is such a special nurse and overall amazing human being. I cannot think of anyone more deserving of the DAISY Award than the highly caffeinated, queso connoisseur, amazing RN that is Erica Ford. We are all so lucky to be a part of "Erica's Americas".
