Erice has been the ultimate professional. He told me what he was doing every time he came into the room. If I had a question, he would stop what he was doing, look me in the eye and answer me thoroughly. At one point, I asked him if he needed me to move out of his way and he responded by saying, "This is your room, I am the guest, you can always be in here."
This experience has been extremely hard on me and I have often left the room to cry. Erice offered me support, advice, hugs, blankets, and coffee. He has welcomed us, taken physical, emotional and medical care of us and has done it all with grace and class. These have been the hardest days of my dad's life and my life and I want him to know how much I appreciate him.
