I would like to nominate Erin Collier, Assistant Nurse Manager in the Operating Room, for the DAISY Award.
Erin has stepped up to the plate this last year in a BIG way. When the RN3 for the general/vascular/thoracic surgical services left HMC, we had a great need for someone to take over these important services and Erin volunteered to take them on! Though she was already running a growing urology service as well as GYN, Erin did not hesitate to add the additional services. Currently she is responsible for more cases and more surgeons than any other RN3.
Erin works so hard every day to ensure all of the patients on her services are cared for in the best possible manner. She is constantly talking with surgeons and staff to help them with their needs no matter how big or small. Even on the days where she is responsible for 9 out of 24 ORs involving all different services, she keeps things humming along while maintaining a positive attitude. The OR staff appreciate how helpful, caring and there for them Erin is every day.
She is positive, upbeat and fun to work with. The staff and surgeons have notice what a positive influence Erin has been in their services. She makes a difference for our staff, surgeons and our patients.
