My sister has been on 6 South for 14 days and all staff has been wonderful. Among all the wonderful staff, is Erin Forte, RN who stands out as a shining example of a nursing professional who remains devoted to patient care.
In her quiet, calm, yet confident manner, she has provided my sister (and others too I am sure) with prompt, efficient assistance and soothing care and positive encouragement consistently.
Specifically, I witnessed her put an arm around my sister’s back in comfort when my sister was upset about impending dialysis. She sat patiently, listened, and it was obvious she genuinely cared. She shows a sincere love for her patients and a dedication to service.
When we asked about details of hemodialysis versus peritoneal dialysis, she informed us she had experience at The Christ Hospital assisting patient with their peritoneal dialysis. We felt God made Erin available to us to answer many questions and transition our anxiety to peaceful acceptance.
Not just any Nurse or other person could have done this but Erin shared her expertise and her obvious caring in a way uniquely special to her.
She is a gifted Nurse who uses her heart and her education and experience to benefit her patients!
