I called for help and Errol was the first to come and help with patient care. He quickly and professionally handled the situation
Errol Angeles exemplifies unwavering commitment to VA nursing service. His compassionate and quick response to individuals in distress showcases his valuable contribution to the healthcare team. Their situation occurred in one of the medical unit 6 West, when a patient became unresponsive, lost cautiousness, and suddenly fell to the floor. I called for help and Errol was the first to come and help with patient care. He quickly and professionally handled the situation, helping to do ECG. When the patient became more stable, he tried to hit Errol when Errol applied ECG leads. Errol reoriented the patient to the situation and provided respect and dignity to patient condition changing related to seizure. I will be forever grateful for his training and knowledge to recognize the situation and to quickly intervene. As a charge nurse I can admit he is easy to work with, since he never complains about assigned patients. Sometimes it is difficult for patients and he is well organized, provide excellent service to veterans. He kindly responded to the shortage of Night shift nurses and changed his work schedule according to COVID unit demands.
Recently, a COVID unit veteran expressed gratitude for care provided by Errol Angeles. This challenging care patient has had a few multistep care that need to be done and Errol provides excellent quality nursing care. He made sure the patient on time received his medical treatment and transported for future care. There many more compliments I heard from patients about skilled nursing care provided by Errol. This nurse is special because he holds a gift to help others. The care that I personally saw him give to veterans was more than I could express. There was another veteran who lost his wife. His wife was from the Philippines and they were married for 20+ years with grown kids. Veteran was tearful and sad. However, Errol was able to emotionally support the patient and help the patient feel better. He was very forward and most respectful in a way you don't see a lot. I am just lucky to work with such an exceptional co-worker .
