Farah went way beyond her duty and called the insurance representative and informed him to recheck my status and review the 3rd medical report that was sent.
I was admitted due to gastroenteritis, and I am well familiar with the admission and hospital processes because I am also working in the hospital setting and was trying to be patient and not nag for the treatment, but it is different once a staff member becomes a patient. I lost all logic and patience when all the symptoms of being dehydrated and pain came down on me.
When the insurance rejected the 3rd medical report that was sent, Farah went way beyond her duty and called the insurance representative and informed him to recheck my status and review the 3rd medical report that was sent. After 10 minutes of waiting over the phone call, my insurance company approved my hospital stay. My nurse explained that this is not the first time it happened because of an insurance issue and she said that I have nothing to worry about just to focus and get better.
Farah can actually stop the effort of following up with the insurance after the third rejection, as nurses have a lot of things to follow up with medical-related matters. For me, I have given up hope already and expected to go home, but she goes beyond her duty and advocates for my well-being. I admire her attitude and patient advocacy. I also appreciate the way she handles the situation with extreme professionalism. I really appreciate the air of continuous reassurance that she gives me and the feeling of contentment that I am well taken care of.
Thank you for being a vessel, a patient advocate, and the patient voice when we cannot use our voice for any circumstances that we are in.
