She practices what she preaches when she says she treats all her patients like they are family.
My 81-year-old mother came into the ER looking for me because she knew I was working a shift. But I had gone home at 10 pm. My mother came in around 1 am looking for me, thinking that I was working a 12-hour shift. Unfortunately, she forgot her card key to her apartment, so she couldn't get back in. The security and ER staff called me but I was asleep and didn't hear my phone ring. Felicia Lee, the ED charge nurse, took my mother into the ED and took care of my mom. Felicia monitored my mom to make sure she didn't wander off and fall. She let my mom take a nap until I was able to pick up my mom in the ED. She sat and comforted my mom. She even bought her an early breakfast with oatmeal, eggs, milk, and juice before I arrived.

I wanted to express my gratitude to all the security and ED staff. Most of all, I wanted to recognize Felicia Lee, RN, for her overwhelming kindness and generosity towards my mother. She practices what she preaches when she says she treats all her patients like they are family. She also comforted me on the phone because I panicked when I heard my mom was in the ER. I feel blessed and honored to work at Kaiser with such incredible people who go out of their way for the patients and especially take care of their coworkers' families. Thank you, Felicia, from the bottom of my heart.
