Gayla is focused on mobility, patient respect, patient dignity, and patient recovery. She goes above and beyond in every aspect of the job and has been a true blessing to my mom and our family. Gayla was the first to meet my mom when she volunteered to stay after her shift and transported my mother for her test. She kept her calm with caring conversation; she coached her through it and celebrated with us as she passed the test.
Gayla has a gift of delivering care excellence, specifically taking an extra effort to zero in on the need for mobility and set goals for "sit and stand" transfers, showers, etc. even if it meant staying over late after her shift to finish and follow through. Her attention to detail has been key to keeping my mom's strength up as healing begins. Gayla has shared extraordinary compassionate care with clinical expertise that has boosted my mom's morale and self-confidence.
***
I have observed Gayla on several occasions. Her attention to detail and the amount of compassion and drive she has for her position is admirable. With the timely tasks given and challenging situation she remains positive and encouraging. She is a true culture changer to the unit and all things she is a part of. Balancing the workflow with compassion would seem hard, however, it shows as coming naturally to her along with supporting her colleagues. She is a true leader who motivates the team and brings brilliant ideas to help shape the care we provide.
