George Deloney is a nurse filled with so much compassion. When my mom was in the ER a month or so ago, it was determined that her time with us was growing short. Dad was completely distraught and had to physically remove himself from the room to release and collect his emotions. George approached him in the hall and offered support and words of compassion to help him deal with what was ahead.
George left my dad with a cross and he had no idea what that meant to him. It was literally the perfect message at his time of emotional crisis. The cross sits on my Dad's dresser where it can be seen every day. Recently Dad contracted the flu. He collapsed and is now in the hospital himself. When George learned of Dad's situation, he came immediately and offered words of support, condolences and a prayer of healing. My dad was immediately calmed and warmed to his soul by the compassion of this nurse. George is truly special and deserves this award.
