Gerald provided a caring attitude while collaborating with the healthcare team and family to meet their wishes after their loved one passed away early this year. The family had sons who were Veterans and they wished after their father passed (who was a Veteran as well) that he be carried by them directly to the hearse in the parking lot. They did not want their father to go to the morgue. Gerald secured the flag and gathered as many staff to aid in the Honor walk. Gerald had to do a lot of "leg work" behind the scenes, such as call the coroner and funeral home while still managing the flow of unit. The sons carried their father out with the draped American Flag in total honor. They were very pleased with the team that assisted them with their wish. This shows true commitment to the mission and vision of this facility and I am proud to call them my team.
