Geralyn is inspirational to many nurses. She is always willing to help, is knowledgeable and often acts as a resource to fellow nurses. The care and love she shows for her patients are consistent. She has an uncanny knack for developing relationships with each of her patients using her compassion and sense of humor to secure their trust.
Despite the often stressful hospital environment, Geralyn gives extraordinary care to each patient. She is an artist of calm, her demeanor is always upbeat and she delivers the quality of care that I would want for my loved one. She adds hope to every patient by how she takes care of them.
Geralyn is my go-to girl. She is truly one in a million. Her ability, dedication, talent and compassion in the field of oncology nursing has many of her peers and patients singing her praises. I entered 2 West with dread, uncertainty, and fear. Instantly, my world was changed by Geralyn. She welcomed me with a smile which made me feel confident about my journey to come. Her expertise, knowledge, gentle manner and tough love helped me rise to a level of complete trust with the care I was about to receive. She made me feel like family. Four patients at a time did not phase Geralyn, she gives the same personal warmth to every single person.
Geralyn has always taken the time to get to know her patients and make them feel comfortable in their most vulnerable state. She knows they may be anxious about their diagnosis and sometimes restless and confused, but she takes the time to talk to them and ease their minds.
Geralyn is a very experienced nurse in acute oncology. She is confident and projects this to our patients. She is a leader on 2 West by teaching and setting examples for the nurses. All of her patients rave about her and she is a tremendous partner for a broad care team that includes physicians like myself and all the outpatient support staff. She maintains lasting relationships with patients and offers support to them in our clinics after they leave the hospital.
Geralyn is a most passionate and caring nurse. She assures the patients are comfortable and embodies quality, integrity and excellent nursing care. She is my role model and I can count on her to teach me something new in the field of oncology nursing.
