Gianna took it upon herself to arrange for the patient to go outside.
Gianna is hands down the sweetest nurse on this planet. After I had my seizure, Gianna was by my side the entire time, rubbing my back. After noticing my uneaten pineapple, Gianna went out of her way to get me a fresh pineapple cup along with other food from Wawa to make sure I ate. She even stopped by another day when I was still here to check up on me, which made my whole day. Thank you for making me feel safe and cared for.

Gianna advocated for one of our patients to go outside. Due to disposition issues, this patient has been at JHN for an extended period. This was such a monumental gesture that clearly made a difference to the patient and the nurses on the unit, who witnessed his reaction to the fresh air. Thank you, Gianna, for always going the extra mile for your patients! Your hard work and compassion do not go unnoticed.

We’ve had a patient on the floor for an extended period of time. This patient is bed-bound and unable to communicate their needs. Gianna took it upon herself to arrange for the patient to go outside. She organized a group of her peers to assist in wheeling the patient outside in his bed and made sure to find a spot where the sun could hit the patient’s face. It was a short trip, but the impact was apparent on the patient’s face. Providing this level of care to a patient that many forget is still here exemplifies why Gianna is a DAISY Nurse!
